Locally, in TEKA Middle East the 100 years of the brand will also be commemorated. In the words of Arturo Manso, Regional CEO of MENA “Teka’s Centenary is an opportunity to celebrate with our Clients and Partners our success, and specially celebrate our THANKS and our GRATITUDE for their TRUST in TEKA, the main reason for this successful path during these 100 years.”

Teka currently sells its products in over 150 countries on five continents and has 10 factories in Europe, Asia and America, 35 distribution hubs and 6 centers of excellence and research. The company has a workforce of more than 3,000 employees worldwide.

100 years of history

Established by Karl Thielmann in 1924, Teka initially started its activity as a company devoted to the manufacture of agricultural machinery. Four years later, Willi Thielmann, Karl’s brother, joins the company as a partner to manage a new factory dedicated to the production of enameled ovens, and in the same year the company starts producing its first ovens. In 1955, Helmut Klein joins the company as factory manager to produce stainless-steel sinks and ends up in partnership with Willi Thielmann. This union gives rise to the company’s trade name.

Thanks to its specialization in stainless steel, in 1959 Teka began to produce sinks and its success led it to expand its catalog, incorporating stoves, ovens and extractor hoods. In 1964, the brand began its journey in Spain, and then, in the 1970s, it began its international expansion, first with a presence in European markets and, sometime later, in America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Teka’s trajectory throughout history has been closely connected to sports. For over 60 years, the brand has given international support to different sports disciplines. In the 1980s, the company became one of the world’s largest sports sponsors, supporting Racing Santander and Real Madrid in soccer and basketball in Spain. It has also had its own handball club, cycling team and has been present in the Dakar rally, Moto2, Polo, ice hockey, SuperCross and even the Winter Olympic Games.

In recent years, the company has been strongly committed to innovation and the launch of new products. For example, during the last decade, Teka has received more than 40 design and innovation awards for products such as SteakMaster, MaestroPizza or the Infinity G1 Edition. They all have an important design component and seek to meet the new needs of the customer who considers his home as a social and entertainment space where the kitchen becomes the true center of the home.

This year Teka is celebrating that it has been 100 years present in the heart of homes, accompanying millions of people in their daily lives, caring unconventionally for people and inspiring meaningful moments. Because for Teka, the kitchen is the heart of all homes. It is more than just a place where meals are made; it is where life happens and where some of the best moments of the life takes place.
