When pizza is calling but you don’t want to build a whole pie, these pizza rolls are the answer. Think of them as bite-sized parcels of joy: gooey cheese, bright tomato sauce, crispy shell, and all the comfort — without the fuss. And here’s the not-so-secret secret: we used the Teka AirFry oven, that magical combo of hot air and crispy dreams. It bakes, it fries, it crunches. You can try with your air fryer too… and cross your fingers it turns out this good.

Ingredients

  • Bacon or cured pork fat (sliced into sticks)
  • 8–10 slices of sandwich bread
  • Tomato sauce
  • Oregano
  • Grated mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • A dash of milk
  • Breadcrumbs

Preparation

  1. Cut the bacon (or cured pork fat) into thin sticks.
  2. Flatten each bread slice (use a rolling pin or hands) and arrange them into a diamond shape.
  3. Spread tomato sauce along the center of each, leaving the ends free.
  4. Sprinkle oregano, grated mozzarella, then lay the meat sticks on top.
  5. Fold the ends of the bread over the filling, sealing with a mixture of beaten egg + milk and securing with a toothpick if needed.
  6. Dip each roll into the remaining egg mixture and coat in breadcrumbs for that extra crunch.
  7. Bake in the AirFry oven using the air-frying mode for about 10 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  8. Remove, garnish with extra cheese or parsley if you like, and serve while hot.

Chef's tip!

Skip the bacon? Use roasted veggies or add a slice of provolone for dramatic cheese pull. And don’t skip the AirFry tray. It’s what gives you that addictive crunch without drenching things in oil.
