Who says pizza has to be savoury? Sometimes, the best way to end (or start, no judgement) a meal is with something unexpected. This sweet chocolate pizza is our kind of rebellion: golden, crisp dough meets creamy chocolate and toasted hazelnuts in a dessert that's impossible not to smile at.
Ingredients
For the dough:
- 300 g strong flour
- 200 ml lukewarm water
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 20 ml olive oil
- 3 tbsp coconut sugar
- 250 g toasted hazelnuts
- 60 g cocoa powder
- 100 ml hazelnut drink (or any plant milk)
- 80 g date caramel or agave syrup
- Extra chopped hazelnuts or pistachios
- Shavings of white or dark chocolate
- Fresh fruit (optional — strawberries are a winner)
Preparation
- Place the flour in a bowl, leaving a hole in the centre.
- In a glass, mix the yeast with the oil, water and sugar.
- Place this mixture in the centre of the bowl with the flour and start mixing with a fork.
- When the ingredients begin to blend, knead for 5 minutes.
- Shape the dough into a ball and cover it with a cloth in a cool place for 3 minutes.
- After this time, flatten the dough on a floured surface into a circular shape.
- Prick the dough with a fork in different areas and bake at 18º for 2 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and decorate with the chocolate cream, chopped hazelnuts and pistachios and vegan white chocolate.
- For the chocolate cream, place all the ingredients in the food processor and blend until you obtain a smooth cream with a spreadable consistency.
- Taste to adjust ingredients to your liking.
Chef's tip!
Turn it into a sharing dessert! Bake smaller "mini pizzas" and let everyone top theirs however they want: nuts, fruit, or even a scoop of ice cream straight from the freezer.
