Which hood should I buy?
Choosing which hood to buy might be a difficult decision. Hereunder we show you some of the key points you should take into account when buying the perfect hood for your kitchen as well as the different types of hoods that you can find on our website.
Decorative
For design lovers, decorative hoods are the best option. They are ideal for all kitchens and can be installed in different ways. They have all the features and you can choose from multiple types: Vertical, Horizontal, Pyramidal or Island.
Modular
Hob and hood in the same appliance. Thanks to the versatility of the VarioPro series, you can create your own customized kitchen and place the hood wherever you want. In addition, they work through a recirculation extraction system, which makes them more sustainable.
Built-in
Integrated hoods are the best choice for discreet kitchens, as they are almost imperceptible and help to maintain the harmony of the space. Choose from our integrated or pull out hood models.
Classic
Classic hoods are the more traditional option but offer excellent performance. They are installed in a practical and comfortable way under the upper cabinet. Besides, you don’t need to give up on design, since Teka offers models in white, black and stainless steel.
Measures and capacity
Other important aspects when choosing which hood to buy are the size and the extraction capacity of the hood. It must be at least as wide as the cooktop and therefore, we have hoods from 40 cm to 120 cm wide.
In addition, we must take into account that the hood must be at least 65 cm above the gas hobs and 60 cm above the electric hobs. In any case, we recommend checking the installation instructions of the hood, in case the distance should be greater.
Calculate the extraction capacity your kitchen needs:
kitchen m² x its height= m³
m³ x 12 = extraction capacity required for that space.
For example, if your kitchen has a surface area of 12 m² and is 2.5 m high:
12 m² x 2.5 m = 30 m³ is the total volume of the kitchen.
30 m³ x 12 = 360 m³/h
A 12 m² kitchen needs a hood with a capacity of 360 m³/h for efficient extraction.
Choose the width of your hood:
Calculate the extraction capacity your kitchen needs:

Installation
The vented hoods move the air from the kitchen to outside whereas recirculation hoods use several types of filters to clean the air, and then recirculates the air into the kitchen.
These are equipped with filters that clean the smoke that has been sucked in and purify the air. They absorb the grease and bad smells and return it back to our kitchens clean.
Outdoor exit
The hoods with external extraction collect the air from the kitchen and send it to the outside of the house.
Air recirculation
Recirculation hoods aspirate the air from the kitchen. This circulates through filters that clean and purify the air, absorb grease and bad smells and return it to the kitchen.
Types of extraction:
You can find three types of extraction: traditional, perimeter or dual. The dual system combines both making it the most efficient.

Cleaning
To avoid cleaning the hood from becoming a real headache, we have created pistons that keep the door open so that accessing the filters is much easier.To let you know when cleaning is necessary, the hoods have an integrated filter saturation indicator that will warn you.
Easy Clean Collector
The Easy Clean Collector system collects the filtered grease. Depending on the type, the filters can be washed either in the dishwasher or in the oven.
Fresh-Air System
This function remains active for 24 hours and renews the air by turning on intermittently for 10 minutes and turning off silently for 50 minutes.
