Christmas menu: cheese balls, beetroot salad, lamb chops with pistou, and cava and raspberry sorbet

We love to combine flavours in the kitchen. It’s not a problem to use traditional Christmas ingredients on our Christmas menu, though. This time, we have recipes with one of the most common meats on a Spanish table these days, lamb. Also, something different but tasty, like the cheeseballs, and a digestive end to this menu if you eat too much (which you will).

Cheese lovers, unite

The cheeseballs with nuts are the perfect starter. Not only for how they taste but also because they are very easy to make and you can cook them even at the very last minute because they are ready in 15 minutes. A winner appetizer with pistachio. All is perfect in this recipe.

A different kind of salad

Just to pretend your menu is healthier. The truth is, by mixing tasty ingredients and colours, you can go one step beyond with this beetroot salad —one that even Dwight Schrute’s farm will approve. It’s also simple to make and a great way to start the Christmas menu or serve it as a side dish. It is a low-cost option ideal for those little kitchen helpers who want to assist you with Christmas recipes.

Unfortunately, someone will probably accuse you of being too modern, posh, or both for making this salad. But, you know, family lunches and dinners are all about the same around the world, and you have to live with those kinds of outrageous comments. You can always throw a cheese ball from the previous starter to anyone who deserves it. Right on the face.

One of the most common and traditional dishes on the Mediterranean’s Christmas menu: is a lamb dish, which is almost a must in most Spanish homes. You usually just need an oven, and the lamb will be ready in a few minutes without adding anything else than some water. We are going a bit further with these lamb chops with pistou, a delightful French sauce similar to Italian pesto.
