The need to grow and simplify everyday life for its customers has been Teka’s inspiration since the company’s foundation. Often inspired by art, Teka has cultivated and deepened this relationship over its 100-year history. From the meticulous design of its products to its collaboration with artistic and architectural communities, Teka reflects the creativity that has driven the company’s growth. This creative energy has been a powerful catalyst, propelling significant achievements throughout Teka’s history.
Teka: architecture for the present and the future
Being part of the movement and making a social impact to enhance the quality of life for thousands of people has been the driving force behind Teka’s relationship with architecture across several continents. The brand has played a significant role in the creation of iconic projects worldwide:
Projects and civil constructions around the world
Teka has played a prominent role in constructions such as Terminal T4 at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, featuring the company’s water fountains and taps. Alsdo, the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in the same city, equipped with Teka refrigerators. These are two landmarks essential to the city’s development. Teka products are also part of other renowned structures across Europe, including NATO’s headquarters in Brussels, the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg, Heathrow Airport in London, and the Black Diamond library in Copenhagen, where the bathrooms feature Teka equipment.
The brand is part of prominent buildings renowned for their flawless architectural design. Some examples are the Laguna de la Pirámide residential project and the Nueva Kennedy residential towers, both in Santiago de Chile. In Ecuador, the cities of Cumbayá, Quito, and Manta feature apartment and office complexes where Teka has also made its mark as part of the interior design equipment.
Teka has contributed to the creation of numerous residential projects across Asia, being present in iconic architectural designs in cities such as Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, and Kuala Lumpur.
The company’s work has been also related to hotel projects built in Egypt, Abu Dabhi, or Ras al-Khaimah, that have fueled financial expansion and economic growth in these regions. Teka also participated in several urban challenges, such ash Princess Tower. This is the world’s second-tallest residential building, with 414 metres tall and 101 floors.
Art as expression and inspiration for Teka
Teka has also collaborated with various art-related organisations to promote their works. Over these 100 years, the brand has participated in exhibitions at museums such as the Museo Franz Mayer in Mexico, the Museo Europeo de Arte Moderno in Barcelona, and the Museo Moderno in Buenos Aires.
One of the most significant partnerships was Teka’s sponsorship of the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid, which featured a thematic exhibition for visitors entitled ‘Gastronomy‘. The tour showcased works from the 15th to the 20th century. The seventeen pieces of art demonstrate the close relationship between gastronomy, emotions, and its historical relevance. This itinerary reflected the gastronomy and art link, a key factor in many of the company’s most important designs.
Home: an alternative space for art
Design and functionality defined Teka from its inception. The brand not only provides practical kitchen and bathroom elements to meet user needs but also leads in the design of finishes and use of materials, continually pursuing beauty and durability. Teka sinks, for instance, represent advancements in design within their sector and remain one of the company’s most popular products in many Spanish households, embracing innovation as one of the main values of the brand.
Teka has actively collaborated with architects and designers outside its usual field of work to gain inspiration and approach traditional trends in a disruptive way, offering different solutions in the design of appliances and taps.
Infinity Design: German technology, Italian design
In 2022, Teka took the next step by collaborating with the prestigious Italian design studio Italdesign Giugiaro, renowned for their iconic car designs for brands such as Lamborghini, Maserati, BMW, and Volkswagen. The combination of German technology and Italian design resulted in the Infinity | G1 Edition appliance series, an exclusive high-quality line that was awarded the 2023 IF Design Award, a mark of excellence in design, among other accolades. This successful collection is present in 37 countries, and Teka documented its creation and implementation process in the film “Back to the Black Matte.” This initiative offers a new perspective on interior design for the kitchen, bringing innovative design right to your table.
The new FullBlack line showcases the innovative use of black in the kitchen, incorporating materials and finishes like glass. It accents the space with details such as stainless steel, bringing a fresh, distinct, classic, and elegant touch.
Innovation and design for your home, our motivation to keep growing
Award committees often recognize Teka’s creative solutions, meticulously crafted to create the kitchen you desire, for their technology and aesthetics. The most recent awards were given for products as the MasterSense Air hob. The revolutionary induction hob includes an integrated hood in the hob, offering a functional and discreet solution for all kitchens. In 2023, it won three of the world’s top design awards: the European Product Design Awards, recognising the best in European design each year; the Good Design Awards, one of the longest-standing design awards in the world; and the International Design Awards, showcasing visionary design talent.
The SteakMaster oven has also been recognised with an honourable mention at the Design Intelligence Award, one of the most prestigious international competitions, thanks to its exclusive technology and design. We carried out this development in collaboration with Michelin-starred chefs, in a quest to combine art, gastronomy, design, and functionality.
Previously, at the International Design Awards 2022, the Brooklyn and Teka Home sink series shared the silver award, while the PremiumCare dishwasher series won bronze.
